Time?

What does time mean to you?

Time is relevant. It pertains to all aspects of our lives, past, present, and future. Time has always been a unit of measure: how long with it take to do this task, how long will I live, how much time is left? I love the quote "Life is not measure of the breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away." We dwell on the essence of time; we break our life down into categories measured by time. Essentially we live three different lives, a past, present, and future life. Yet, what is time? Does it even matter? Would we truly be lost if we didn't measure life in minutes, days, and years?

Question #2

"When you photograph people in color, you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in back and white, you photograph their souls!" -Ted Grant

I agree with Ted Grant's idea; when you photograph in color the picture represents the whole part. It includes all the distracting noise of color caused from their clothing, jewelry, makeup, or surrounding environments. However, when you photograph a person in black and white you are forced to look at him/her and the light her/she illuminates through their posture and facial expressions, only. Using black and white creates a more distinguishable contrast and allows the viewer to see the person, their projected personality and feelings, and not what he/she is wearing or the background noise of color.
